AhlulBayt News Agency: In a press statement, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, President of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, declared that the law introduced by the government, “Waqf 2025,” is currently under judicial review in the Supreme Court. All Muslim organizations have rejected it. Moreover, opposition parties, human rights groups, and representatives from Sikh, Christian, and other minority communities have also deemed it unacceptable.
Despite this, the government is set to launch the "Waqf Ummeed Portal" from June 6, making it mandatory to register Waqf properties through it. This action is entirely illegal and constitutes a clear case of contempt of court.
According to reports, this registration process is based entirely on the controversial Waqf law that is currently being challenged in court and has been termed unconstitutional. Therefore, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board strongly opposes this move and appeals to Muslims and State Waqf Boards to refrain from registering their properties on this portal until a final decision is made by the court.
The Board urges Waqf trustees to submit memorandums to their respective State Waqf Boards, requesting that such actions be suspended until the Supreme Court issues its verdict. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board also announced its intent to soon approach the court against this government action.
